Welcome to the Hitchhiker's Guide to Pokémon forums. We hope your stay will be pleasant. To ensure that everyone enjoys themselves (and to stop us from having headaches), follow the rules below. There is a low tolerance towards rule breaking here, so ignore this at your peril.


We will not tolerate, and will punish you for:

- Racism and homophobia: While satire is entertaining enough, outright hate speech is not accepted. Very much a bannable offense.

- Illegal Material, Links and Discussion: Links to, and discussion of illegal material is also not tolerated. Discussion of ROMs and emulators is allowed, but actually link to a ROM, and expect to vanish very quickly.
- Abusing a Moderator: The moderators give up their own time to help out with this forum. If you are abusive to a moderator, pain and warns on your behalf will follow. This isn't a democracy; what we say goes here. Any issues wil the modship can be dealt with via PM, but don't be surprised if it doesn't always go your way.
- Excessive Spamming: No. Spam attacks will result in a very swift suspension or ban. Don't even try; we're very efficient.
- Having more than one account: Just stick to the one. Multiple accounts will end up with them ALL banned. Don't try going in through someone elses account either; we'll know.


We’d rather you didn’t:

- Double Post: This is circumstantial. If you are updating your own thread with new information, then double posting is acceptible. Otherwise, it will generally count as spamming. We have an edit button for you to alter posts.
- Be a Vigilante: If you see someone breaking the rules, PM a moderator. Do not post: ‘this should be locked’ etc. It is annoying; we aren't blind.
- Repeat a topic: Learn to use the Search function and check if a thread already exists.
- Make Worthless Posts One word posts, or abuse of emoticons does NOT contribute to anything useful. Think "Will my post be useful?" before replying to anything, for better success. While we can acept that English might not be your first language, or you're bad at spelling; please type in coherent English (you do know what that is, right?), so we can all understand you.
- Post your friend codes: You are not allowed to post your own or other people’s friend codes on the forum. Keep it to PMs.
Deliberately start arguments: Please don’t start a thread just to create an argument. Discussions? Feel free. But hate-fests aren't a good idea...
Rename yourself constantly: It's irritating, and no one will remember who you are.


Sig Rules

All signature images must be under 600 X 300 pixels. Please also limit the number of lines of text above and below your sig to 3. If your sig is over the limit and you are asked to change it you must do so immediately or it will be deleted by an admin. Admin team reserve the right to delete signatures without warning. We will allow Trainer Card sigs to be used.


Rule breaking will result in the following:

First Offence - Caution
Second Offence - Warning
Third Offence - Suspension*
Fourth Offence - Ban

* Suspension lengths vary depending on the severity of the offence. The usual suspension length is one week but a major offence will result in a two week suspension.

Please be aware that these rules are subject to alteration.
